Grade Mobile's Commitment to ESG: Building a Sustainable Future for All

Discover How Grade Mobile is Prioritizing Environmental, Social, and Governance Issues to Drive Positive Change and Create Lasting Value.

What is ESG?

ESG, or Environmental, Social, and Governance, refers to a set of standards and principles that companies use to evaluate their impact on the environment, society, and corporate governance. The ESG framework has become increasingly important in recent years as more and more investors, customers, and other stakeholders are demanding that companies take responsibility for their actions and consider the broader impact of their operations.

The roots of the ESG framework can be traced back to the socially responsible investing movement of the 1960s and 1970s. This movement was focused on using investments to promote social and environmental goals, and it laid the groundwork for the ESG framework we see today. In the 1990s, the concept of sustainability emerged, which highlighted the importance of balancing economic, environmental, and social considerations in business decision-making. The term ESG was first used in the early 2000s and has since become a widely recognized standard for measuring corporate responsibility.

The ESG framework covers a wide range of issues, including climate change, resource depletion, labor standards, human rights, data privacy, and board diversity. Companies that incorporate ESG into their operations are seen as more responsible and are often rewarded with higher valuations, lower borrowing costs, and increased customer loyalty.

According to a recent report by the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance, sustainable investments reached $35.3 trillion in 2020, up from $30.7 trillion in 2018. This trend is expected to continue as more investors recognize the importance of ESG considerations in their investment decisions.

Grade Mobile's ESG Strategy: Creating a Sustainable Future

At Grade Mobile, we are committed to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in our business operations. As a seller and repairer of refurbished mobile devices, we are proud to have a business model that is inherently sustainable and helps to reduce electronic waste.

Through our business model, we are able to reduce our carbon footprint significantly. For instance, each phone we sell saves approximately 70kg of carbon emissions, according to calculations from the Carbon Fund.

This means that in a typical month, we are able to save up to 210 tonnes of carbon emissions through the sale of refurbished devices alone. These emissions savings are equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed by approximately 8,000 mature trees per month.

In addition, we have implemented several initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint and promote energy efficiency in our operations. For example, we have reduced our paper usage through digitization. We also recycle and reuse materials wherever possible and use energy-efficient lighting and equipment.

Our focus on sustainability also extends to our social responsibility efforts. We are committed to treating our employees, customers, and suppliers with respect and fairness, and we have established a program to donate a portion of our profits to charitable organizations that promote environmental sustainability and social welfare.

At Grade Mobile, we are proud to differentiate ourselves from other companies in the mobile device industry by our commitment to ESG principles. By operating our business in a responsible and sustainable manner, we can contribute to a better world for future generations.

In summary, our business model and sustainability initiatives enable us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and promote energy efficiency. We remain committed to our social responsibility efforts and strive to make a positive impact on the environment and society. As a company, we believe that our commitment to ESG principles will enable us to create long-term value for our stakeholders and contribute to a more sustainable future.
